Executive Director
In her career, Campbell has held various leadership roles driving impact and effecting change across the public, private, and social sectors. She's worn many hats as a nonprofit co-founder, leader, teacher, and consultant, and she's proud to be Executive Director at Portland Tennis & Education. Her favorite thing about working at PT&E is partnering with our amazing staff to make a tangible impact on scholar athletes, families, and the tennis community every day.
Fun Fact: Campbell spent seven months on a knee scooter after a tennis injury, but she's back on the courts and hopes to give some of our oldest scholar athletes a run for their money before too long!
Rachel
(she/her)
Program Director
Rachel was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She has been working with kids for nearly a decade, and has been working in programming for more than half that time, most recently as Youth Programs Supervisor at the Multnomah Athletic Club (MAC). Creating and providing opportunities for kids to learn and grow is her passion. She has worked with kids as young as 6 weeks old, all the way through high school through volunteering, teaching, coaching, and programming.
Fun Fact: In her free time, Rachel love to go camping, travel, paint, and spend time with her family.
lindsay (she/her)
Head Pickleball Pro // Operations & Facilities Manager
Coach Lindsay discovered her love for sports as a kid from Lake Oswego by way of Northern California. From soccer, basketball and softball, her athletic journey took a turn when she found pickleball. For several years now, Lindsay has immersed herself in the sport, becoming a certified ITPTA instructor. She is both a skilled competitor and has a passion for teaching new and experienced players. To her, pickleball is more than a sport, it is about community.
Fun Fact: Beyond the courts, Lindsay is a passionate sneakerhead whose interests include cooking, musicals, and women’s sports, especially soccer.
shalini (She/hER)
Advancement Manager
Shalini grew up moving back and forth between Seattle, Washington and Bangalore India. She is a graduate from Lewis & Clark College with a degree in Sociology/Anthropology and a minor in Ethnic Studies. Shalini is grateful to be a part of the work that PT&E does to provide equitable education, expand access to tennis, and empower youth! Her most treasured time at PT&E has been organizing PT&E’s Annual Tennis Ball as well as helping create the Female Empowerment Club.
Fun Fact: Shalini is passionate about R&B/Rap music, boba, and spending as much time in the sun as possible!
Shane (he/him)
Tennis Pro
Coach Shane is originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. He played college tennis at the University of Hawaii for a couple of years and also studied abroad in Spain. His favorite thing about working at PT&E is getting to know more about the scholar athletes and their different cultures.
Fun Fact: Coach Shane enjoys seeing live music, singing karaoke, and playing video games with his friends.
Vu (he/him)
Tennis Pro
Coach Vu joined PT&E in the fall of 2015 after learning about it from former staff members. He started off as a desk staff then worked in various capacities supporting each classroom before finally receiving his tennis coaching training and becoming the certified tennis coach that he is now. Coach Vu is always ready to coach other people's tennis so don’t be afraid to ask him for a lesson.
Fun Fact: Coach Vu was born and raised in Portland, Oregon by his parents who came from Vietnam after the Vietnam war.
Teri (She/hER)
Adult Tennis Lead
Coach Teri grew up in Southern California where she competed in high level junior tournaments and high school tennis. She received a full ride scholarship to play for Boise State University as the #1 singles player all 4 years. She moved to Portland in 1991 and has been teaching full time since 1992 at various private clubs and Park & Rec.
She continued to compete in USTA at the 5.0 level and was very successful at several national events.
Fun Fact: Teri enjoys hiking, cooking, gardening, pickleball, and cleaning. She also loves the Oregon rain
Josh (He/Him)
Penguins Class Lead (Kindergarten - 1st grade)
Coach Josh has been working with kids since he was 12! He currently splits his time working with the Huckleberry class (Pre-K) at the Multnomah Athletic Club and the Penguins at PT&E. In his free time, he loves watching TV with his cat Benji and taking long drives in the rain.
wyatt (he/him)
Foxes Class Lead (2nd - 3rd grade)
Coach Wyatt started working with PT&E at the beginning of 2023. He has been working with elementary school students since 2020, previously leading the music department for STAR Education in Los Angeles, California as well as teaching elementary biology and engineering. Wyatt has always had a love of education, with his studies of literature and linguistics at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Wyatt hopes to instigate curiosity as well as a love of learning and creativity in the classroom with all our scholar athletes!
brenda (sHe/her)
Middle School + High School Program Manager
Coach Brenda was born and raised in St. Johns. She graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor’s in social work and two minors in sociology and Spanish. During her time in college, she studied abroad in Peru and Ecuador where she learned to speak their dialects Quechua and Quichua. She enjoys watching anime, doing arts & crafts, reading, playing soccer and baking treats. Brenda is excited to foster positive change in the lives of the individuals and communities that she serve.
Fun fact: Coach Brenda has two birthdays.
Peter (he/him)
Tennis Coach
Coach Peter began playing tennis at St John's Racquet Center about ten years ago and enjoys the inspirational and community atmosphere. Peter attained professional tennis certifications from both USPTA and PTR and enjoys continuing to grow in his tennis knowledge and coaching skills. Peter runs the adult beginner tennis classes at St. John's Racquet Center and loves helping students learn and improve their skills while enjoying this incredible game.
Fun Fact: When Coach Peter is not hitting a tennis ball, he’s most likely working with plants and designing native plant gardens.
Harry (he/him)
Front Desk + Tennis Coach
Coach Harry was born in Washington DC and moved to Oregon as a teenager. He has had a long career in teaching, training and counseling. He taught high school English and was a college Counselor for Students with Disabilities from 2005 to 2020, serving as President of the Oregon Association for Higher Education and Disability along the way.
Tennis has been a central part of Harry's life for almost 50 years, and he has played competitively as a junior and open-level tournament player. He has taught tennis privately in recent years, and joined PT&E as a Tennis Instructor in 2022.
Fun fact: Among Harry's favorite travel experiences was washing elephants in Northwest Thailand in 2019.
